Immutable X Debuts Passport for Web3 Gamers
On December 19, 2023, Immutable officially launched the Immutable Passport for use in games and marketplaces, introducing a streamlined registration process through passwordless login and automatic wallet creation.
This secure solution is tailored for studios and games integrated into the web3 ecosystem, such as Gods Unchained, Blocklete Golf, Bleacher Report Watch2Earn, TokenTrove, and AtomicHub, reaching over 500,000 users.
According to VanEck's 2024 predictions, one of the top 10 ETF asset management companies globally with assets under management exceeding $65 billion, the Immutable Passport holds promising potential to address many issues faced by web2, such as complex login processes, and to overcome barriers hindering the strong growth of web3.
Immutable's Co-Founder, Robbie Ferguson, added: "Creating a web3 game has been time-consuming, with user attrition due to cumbersome login methods being the most wasteful. Hence, we developed the Immutable Passport to radically simplify this process, enhancing user attraction, optimizing transaction conversion rates, and delivering the smoothest user experience."
Immutable Passport does not monitor or hold users' private keys nor is it involved in transaction signing, ensuring users' complete peace of mind regarding security and privacy.
Several notable games, including Gods Unchained, have already integrated the Passport. With over $52 million worth of cards traded and a player base of 450,000, Gods Unchained stands out as the most stable and longest-running web3 gaming project.
Daniel Paez, Vice President and Executive Producer of Gods Unchained, stated: "The greatest setback of web2 has been its complex registration procedures and the inability for players to transfer assets from one game to another. Web3 has resolved all these issues with the launch of the Immutable Passport."
