NFT Gaming Rising on Ronin Blockchain
The Ronin network by Axie Infinity is expanding with the launch of several NFT games, tripling active user engagement and boosting RON prices.
While primarily known as Ethereum's sidechain network supporting Axie Infinity, Ronin now attracts attention for other games, with network activity surging following the recent launch of Pixels.
Wallets on RON tripled
The number of active wallet addresses on Ronin has tripled in recent days, as shared on Twitter by Alex Svanevik (CEO of Nansen).
NFT Game Pixels on RON
Previously on Polygon, the NFT game Pixels has transitioned to Ronin, officially debuting on the Axie network on October 31.
The game recreates the feel of a classic 16-bit RPG adventure, allowing players to navigate a pixel art world, interact socially, farm, play mini-games, and earn rewards in tokens.
Developed by Sky Mavis, creators of Axie Infinity, Ronin has expanded with additional games on the Ethereum scaling solution, including The Machines Arena, Zoids Wild Arena, CyberKongz Play, and Kollect.
Ronin endured a $622 million hack in March 2022 on its Ethereum bridge, attributed by the U.S. Treasury to the notorious state-sponsored hacking group Lazarus from North Korea. Sky Mavis subsequently reimbursed users for stolen funds and recovered approximately 10% of the stolen amount from centralized exchanges.
Axie Infinity's native token prices have also seen recent increases, with governance token AXS rising 42% in the past 30 days to over $6.00, while reward token SLP surged 71% to above $0.002 during that period.
