Notcoin is set to unveil a new story-driven Web3 game in partnership with the NFT collection Lost Dogs and the Getgems marketplace on The Open Network (TON). The game will offer players the opportunity to earn Notcoin (NOT) tokens and a new in-game currency.

Having previously gained traction with a viral clicker game that onboarded over 30 million users in under two months, Notcoin is now pivoting towards a more sustainable model. In a statement to Cointelegraph, Notcoin acknowledged that its previous tap-to-earn model was not viable for long-term growth. Despite its initial success, the project decided to end its mining phase at its peak on April 1. This move reflects a strategic shift towards more enduring engagement strategies.

Mad Tail, the chief barking officer of the Lost Dogs collection, emphasized the importance of narrative in gaming. “Life itself is a narrative concept,” Mad Tail said. “Our goal is to align this narrative synchronicity in our game — as above, so below.” The Lost Dogs team believes that despite the trend towards instant gratification mechanics, players still seek compelling narratives.
