Super Nintendo on Bitcoin via BRC-69

Super Nintendo on Bitcoin via BRC-69

What is BRC-69?

BRC-69 is a new standard capable of reducing up to 90% of the costs associated with creating Bitcoin Ordinals on the Bitcoin network.

This standard was proposed by Luminex - a Launchpad platform for projects based on BRC 20 Tokens and Ordinal Inscriptions. By leveraging Recursive Inscriptions, BRC-69 establishes a mechanism to extract data from existing Inscriptions, which can then be used to create new Bitcoin Ordinals.

Operation of BRC-69 in 4 Steps:

  1. Initially, data is extracted from existing Ordinal Inscriptions on the Bitcoin blockchain. This data serves as the foundation for creating new Ordinal Inscriptions using Recursive Inscriptions.
  2. With BRC-69, Bitcoin Ordinals can be minted using Text-based Inscriptions instead of images. This text acts as a design blueprint containing necessary information to display the final image across all Bitcoin Ordinals interfaces.
  3. Once Text-based Inscriptions are created, the protocol's Recursive Inscriptions mechanism automatically displays the image across all NFT interfaces. This rendering process utilizes resources on the blockchain, eliminating the need for off-chain rendering services.
  4. BRC-69 optimizes space utilization and reduces redundancy by recycling existing blockchain-stored data, creating a more efficient and scalable system.

Super Nintendo on Bitcoin

Ninjalerts' Bitcoin developers have successfully implemented a Super Nintendo emulator on Bitcoin using the BRC-69 standard.

Led by the Ninjalerts team, this project aims to redefine the intersection of gaming and blockchain technology, pushing beyond the boundaries of static imagery into new realms.
