Team Liquid - Esports Giant Collaborates with Illuvium
Team Liquid is set to release NFTs as part of its collaboration with the NFT game Illuvium, advising on game development and helping to establish an esports environment for Illuvium.
Team Liquid is collaborating with the NFT game developers Illuvium, which recently entered the Early Access phase to test game features: turn-based, player-vs-player (PVP), creature autobattler. Victor Goossens, Founder and co-CEO of Team Liquid, announced the partnership on Wednesday.
Goosens stated in a video: "We will stress test and consult on their PVP aspects of the game. We are extremely impressed with the quality of the game compared to what we’ve seen so far."
According to the organization's CEO, Team Liquid members such as Broxah (professional League of Legends player) and content creator "Midbeast" are among those from the esports organization currently testing Illuvium.
"We believe this will be a game that honors skill and strategy," he explained, "similar to many games Liquid is involved with today."
Team Liquid, a company that raised $35 million last year with a valuation of $415 million, will also collaborate with Illuvium to develop esports and tournaments for the game in 2024 by jointly organizing an esports tournament with a total prize pool of $100,000.
The game will also release Illuvium-themed NFTs featuring Team Liquid character skins and avatars as part of the collaboration. Illuvium is built on Immutable X, an Ethereum layer-2 solution tailored for NFT gaming.
This collaboration is not just a handshake between two entities; it sets a precedent for Web3 Games in mainstream esports.
