Thetan Arena: Blockchain-Based MOBA Game
Introduction
Thetan Arena is an "Play for Free, Play to Earn" e-sport game based on blockchain technology. The gameplay of Thetan Arena revolves around combining individual gaming skills and team spirit, challenging players through various modes like MOBA and Battle Royale.
Although the game's release has been delayed from its original timeline, Thetan Arena is expected to launch by late Q3 or early Q4 of 2021.
Project Highlights
Wolffun Games is a highly experienced team in the gaming industry.
Heroes Strike, a previously successful game, is rebranded with blockchain integration as Thetan Arena.
Free-to-play: Players can join without mandatory investments.
Free-to-earn: Players can earn rewards with default characters provided for free.
Gameplay Mechanics
Heroes
Upon first joining, players receive a free level 1 hero named Raidon (not tradable on the market). Other rare heroes are unlocked via Thetan Boxes.
Heroes in Thetan Arena are categorized into three groups:
Tank: frontline heroes with high durability to protect teammates.
Assassin: specialized in offensive capabilities on the battlefield.
Marksman: ranged attackers who maintain consistent damage per second (DPS) throughout battles.
Each hero has unique strengths and roles in combat. Players must choose wisely to increase their win rates.
Additionally, heroes have two different attribute levels in Thetan Arena: Hero Level and In-game Hero Level.
Hero Level represents basic attributes of heroes, while In-game Hero Level starts each battle at level 1.
Players also encounter Trophy Class rankings (from H to SS) for each hero, indicating proficiency gained through battles. Trophy Class enhances customizable skills chosen by heroes in the game.
Skills
Before each battle, players choose two types of skills alongside selecting their hero. Each skill type plays a distinct role, requiring players to strategize effectively:
Effect Skill: applies status effects on self, allies, and enemies.
Damage Skill: increases damage output multiple times for a short duration.
Support Skill: aids heroes against enemy attacks.
Weekly, 15 random skills are available for selection within these skill types. Players can only choose from these available skills, with the selection refreshed weekly.
Game Modes
Thetan Arena offers various gameplay modes:
Battle Royale (Solo/Duo): 12 players compete to eliminate others and be the last one standing.
Tower Siege: 8 players in two teams aim to destroy each other's towers within a 5-minute timeframe, or the team with the most tower damage wins.
Super Star: 8 players strive to collect the most super stars, with the team earning more points declared the winner.
Deathmatch: 8 players engage in eliminating each other, with the first to 25 points before time runs out declared the winner.
Custom Battle: customizable mode where players create and play with friends.
Thetan Arena also hosts frequent special events with rich rewards, including Campaign (PvE), Collection (PvE/PvP), Leaderboard Competition, and War (PvP).
Free-to-play
Players start with a default hero and can earn in-game currency (Thetan Coin) for participation.
Upon achieving certain ranks, players receive their second and third heroes, or they can earn enough to unlock new premium heroes on the Thetan Marketplace with these initial three free heroes.
However, note that:
Free heroes earn fewer tokens compared to premium heroes.
Free heroes cannot be bought, sold, or traded.
Free heroes cannot participate in special events.
Free heroes cannot develop into Thetan heroes.
Free heroes cannot be traded on the market.
Play-to-earn
Players can use free heroes to participate in battles and accumulate Thetan Coins ($THC), which can be sold on the market or used to unlock premium heroes, though this takes time.
For faster progression, players can purchase and use $THC to open Thetan Boxes for premium heroes. With premium heroes, players can upgrade and sell for $THC. Additionally, special events can earn players $THC and $THG.
Players can invest in Thetan and view premium heroes as digital assets for profit. They can rent out or collaborate with skilled players to share profits from in-game activities.
Players can also become streamers, attracting viewers for live broadcasts and donations, and earning rewards from the Thetan community.
