Ubisoft Introduces 'Captain Laserhawk' Avatar into The Sandbox

Ubisoft has announced the integration of avatars based on its new Netflix animated series, "Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix," into The Sandbox.

What is The Sandbox?
The Sandbox is a metaverse world where players can build assets, own property, and earn money, built on the Ethereum blockchain.

The Sandbox gaming brand is most recognized for its two mobile hits: The Sandbox (2011) and The Sandbox Evolution (2016), which together amassed over 40 million downloads on iOS and Android.

It's an ecosystem that allows for limitless creativity and possibilities within the Sandbox.

Within Sandbox, users can freely create 3D voxel models and NFTs such as humans, animals, vehicles, tools, and items.

Once built, these creations can be exported from VoxEdit to The Sandbox marketplace to become game assets as NFTs.

Ubisoft Launches NFTs on The Sandbox
Avatars based on Ubisoft's new Netflix animated series, "Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix," will now be added to The Sandbox.

A total of 1,866 avatars will be released as NFTs on the Polygon and Ethereum blockchains.

The launch of this collection by The Sandbox and Ubisoft is scheduled for November 29, 2023, with specific pricing for each NFT yet to be determined.

Previously, Ubisoft released an NFT collection based on the Rabbids intellectual property in February 2023, priced at 100 SAND/NFT (approximately $78 at that time).

Ubisoft is actively expanding its presence in the Web3 world, most recently announcing plans to release Ethereum NFTs for free within the upcoming Champions Tactics game on the Oasys blockchain.

Recently, Ubisoft also revealed collaborations with Immutable, utilizing Immutable X's gaming platform and Immutable zkEVM.

Additionally, Ubisoft has supported the Cronos and Hedera ecosystems, creating an NFT soccer game and releasing Rabbids avatars as Reddit NFTs.
