Wemade and Whampoa Digital Launch $100M Investment Fund in Blockchain
What is Wemade?
WeMade (formerly known as WeMade Entertainment) is a South Korean electronic game developer headquartered in Seoul. WeMade is renowned for its popular puzzle game series Anipang, which has garnered widespread acclaim both domestically and internationally.
WeMade also created the MMORPG series Legend of Mir, with its most successful titles being The Legend of Mir 2 and its sequel, The Legend of Mir 3. Legend of Mir attracted over 120 million users across Asia and generated over $65 million in monthly revenue during its peak.
Additionally, WeMade is a major sponsor of G-Star 2020, the largest gaming event in South Korea.
Wemade Launches Blockchain Investment Fund
On December 23, 2023, WeMade collaborated with Singapore-based investment firm Whampoa Digital to launch a $100 million investment fund aimed at the web3 market. The fund focuses primarily on investing in blockchain game projects in the Middle East region.
Simultaneously, WeMade is developing the Wemix Play Center, a blockchain gaming platform that integrates NFTs to provide users with a diverse gaming environment. Users can directly experience this platform by downloading the app from the Play Store.
Furthermore, a senior partner at Whampoa Group stated, "This collaboration will propel the digital finance industry in the Middle East to new heights and position us ahead of the web3 trend in the future."
