Yuga Labs' HV-MTL Forge Game Achieves New Milestones in 2023
Yuga Labs, renowned for creating the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection, has reached a significant milestone with their latest electronic game project, HV-MTL Forge, which has doubled user engagement compared to their previous game, Dookey Dash.
"For HV-MTL Forge, retention rates are twice that of Dookey Dash, with a Day 10 retention rate of 42%," said Spencer Tucker, Yuga Labs' Game Director. Tucker joined Yuga about a year ago, previously working at the mobile gaming studio Scopely.
Earlier this year, Yuga launched Dookey Dash, generating over $110 million in transaction volume for the game's NFT Sewer Pass. Additionally, a prominent Fortnite gamer won a short-term competition within the game, earning $1.6 million for their efforts.
Tucker pointed out that not only did a majority of Dookey Dash players without Yuga NFTs try the game, but it also led to many gamers setting up new wallets. "Seventy-five percent of Dookey Dash players did not own Yuga's NFTs, and we've seen a 40% growth in unique wallets," he said.
Following Dookey Dash, Yuga launched the first season of their new game, HV-MTL Forge, in June 2023. Designed for a more community-focused experience, players compete to earn admiration from others. To play, gamers need to own one of the 30,000 HV-MTL NFTs, currently priced at a floor of 0.57 ETH, which has generated nearly $64 million in transactions since its debut in March, according to OpenSea data.
HV-MTL Forge features six seasons and two modes, with the second mode set to commence in the coming weeks, according to Yuga.
Among the leading NFT brands leveraging their intellectual assets and expanding reach, Yuga stands out for its level of interaction and, economically speaking, for driving tens of millions of dollars in digital asset transactions linked to gaming.
"We're expanding the definition of digital collectibles; sometimes you really forget you're interacting with NFTs while engaging in Yuga Labs' projects," Tucker added.
